Overview

Hotmail was a free online email service initially started in 1995 by Jack Smith and Sabeer Bhatia. However, after two years, Microsoft took over the email services, and Hotmail had gained almost one million users by 2001. In the year 2013, Microsoft decided to do the rebranding of the app and named it Outlook.com. The software has gained almost 300 million users with its new brand. Even if Hotmail doesn’t exist anymore, the old users still have the old email address in the interface of the new Outlook.
